So there is a growing trend for summer weddings that we've noticed simply because we've been doing a lot of custom designs for this very thing. It's a pre wedding shoot.
So it's basically a trend that has been around for a while now and it's a great idea too because on the day of the wedding there are way too many stress factors and getting that perfect romantic shot can be hard. You are also limited with background depending on the wedding venue. Some couples do travel far for the photographs but that's tiring and inconvenient so a pre wedding shoot is actually the ideal solution.
The biggest question then becomes, 'what to wear for the pre wedding shoot?'
Being a girl and being greedy, it's a good idea to have two outfits. Two looks to make it more interesting. Not more than that because it's not a fashion shoot after all. The outfit choice does depend on the backdrop and the season but there are few choices that work overall.
Personally staying with pastel colors is a great idea because they are soft and subtle. Its a wise idea to stay away from any color that's too loud because its about you two and the love you share. The focus shouldn't be on the clothing. Clothing should complement and enhance the picture keeping the focus on you.
So sorbet pastel colors are perfect for this. A mix of a subtle print is also quite beautiful. This can be a floral print or even a abstract one but it keeps things interesting.
The details in the outfit should be intricate but minimal. It's not your wedding day so a heavy outfit with lots of bling will make you feel restricted and dated. It's important to let your personality shine.
We've paired a few floral blouses with pastel and nude lehengas and white lehengas all always a good idea. Net lehengas keep things moving and photograph beautifully.
Most important thing in the outfit once you've figured out the design is the fit! It has to be perfect. The silhouettes should be flattering on your body. Do not pinterest ideas and think what looks good on someone else will look good on you.
Make up and hair: Soft free flowing hair is beautiful. For the newer brides, braids have been very popular. They are so princess like and pretty. Makes a bride look innocent and demure. If you are having two looks, you can try a contrasting hair style for the second look like a bun or a side brad. Make up should be minimal with enhanced features with a strong lip or a cat eye. Heavy smokey eyes are better avoided and a dewy fresh skin rather than a heavy bronzed one is the way to go.
